Introduced in 2008, the Marquis 40 Sport Coupe (called the 420 SC in 200912) is one of the first boats designed to take advantage of the space-saving features of Volvo IPS pod drives. The bold and dramatic styling of the 40 SC is the result of Marquis partnership with the Italian Naval Architectural firm of Nuvolari-Lenard. The 40 SC is built in Wisconsin and has on-going factory support.
This model has recently been serviced in the engines, Generator. Clean engine room. The teak aft is recently done.
Upgraded electronics. Upgraded Sound system
One of the innovative features of the boat is what Marquis calls a sliding transom that glides aft with a push of a button to create more than 60 square feet of cockpit space. Below, the two-stateroom, single-head interior of the Marquis 40 features a queen berth in the forward master stateroom and single berths in the starboard-side guest cabin.
The salon, with its sweeping windows, U-shaped sofa and disappearing 26″ TV, is a modern blend of hardwood cabinets, lacquered trim and designer fabrics. An electric table in the salon drops to cocktail level or raises to dinette height.
The euro-style galley is up and to port, opposite the two-seat helm station. It has a huge power retractable tinted sunroof plus a fixed aft sunroof with an integrated shade.
The 40 SC has twin Volvo 435hp IPS pod drives with joystick controls that cruise the Marquis 40 SC at 28 knots with mid 30s top. The 13KW generator has a low 298 hours. The 40 SC is very sexy looking, feels heavy and looks fast.
