2016 Azimut 54 Flybridge

$949,000.00

Thoroughly serviced and prepared for sale, this Azimut 54 Fly has spent the bulk of its life in the brackish waters of the Chesapeake Bay and only brought South for sale. Maintained with an open checkbook, no expense has been spared in making the boat ready for immediate sale, eliminating substantial service and maintenance cost for the next owner. This is the best example of an Azimut 54 Fly on the market today!

One of Azimuts most popular models in recent years, the 54 Fly set the bar for styling and workmanship among builders. One of the few 54s on the market with the sought after White Ash interior, this boat has a much more welcome feel than the Zebrano wood found on most all other 54 Flys of this era. Unlike earlier boats, the 2016 models featured increased storage, a hardtop with opening section, and the preferred Volvo D11s rather than the MAN R6s which require much more maintenance.

Appointed with much more equipment and features than its European counterparts, The 54 is perfect for extended cruising or entertaining on a grand scale. A complete complement of electronics at both helms, integrated Xenta joystick for engines and thrusters, and Seakeeper stabilizer give the owner every tool to make the boating experience as stress free as possible. Teak decking throughout, recently sanded and detailed, give the rich look one would expect from an Italian styled yacht. Ahead of its time, Azimut incorporated a trapezoid shaped bow, which results in increased deck space, a dryer ride, and more room below deck.

Below is a list of significant recent services, upgrades, and factory options (a full list of options can be found under “other details” tab):

The flybridge features a port side helm in contrast to the starboard side lower helm, which gives the captain great visibility regardless of port or starboard side-to docking. The flybridge helm features all the same instrumentation as the lower helm, so the owner does not have to select the driving station based on desired available equipment (complete list of Raymarine navigation equipment available under “options” in “other details” tab). Both helms feature a Xenta joystick that integrates the bow thruster and the engines. This gives the benefit of joystick docking without the added maintenance and potential issues of pod drives.

Opposite the helm sits a large sunpad for laying out, conveniently level with the helm so the captain can stay in the social circle and interact with guests. The aft section of the sunpad flows into a U-shaped sofa with high-gloss teak table that folds out to form a large table for alfresco dining. Aft of the sofa is another double-wide sunpad for laying out, complete with headrest. The helm seat flows seamlessly into a wetbar that houses a refrigerator, storage, grill, and sink.

The bridge steps are teak-soled and supported by molded fiberglass, not a ladder-back system found on so many yachts of this size. Not only does this provide for a sturdier and more slip friendly setup, but it also allows for storage built into the console. The cockpit has a C-shaped transom sofa and high-gloss teak table. Entry to the crew quarter is through the starboard side flange of the sofa, while the port side houses a hidden cockpit refrigerator. Side boarding gates make boarding the boat at fixed piers easy, while the swim platform makes boarding from a floating dock equally as simple. Cockpit mooring winches on either side make it simple to deploy a stern anchor for scenic anchoring, assist in Mediterranean style mooring, or even side too docking in strong winds. Cleverly placed cockpit speakers face down from the flybridge overhang, bathing the cockpit in sound, but staying remarkably quiet outside the boat, so as not to disturb dock neighbors.

The wide bow sunpad is another great area to layout and in more privacy. Wide teak decks and a trapezoid-shaped bow give plenty of deck space to congregate on the bow at anchor or at the dock, with extra tall side rails and plenty of stanchions for support.

The salon houses an over-sized sofa to port which has a hidden pullout bed, giving designated sleeping quarters for 7 people, not including crew. The couch sits opposite a high-low TV and storage cabinets featuring Azimut branded glassware and an icemaker. Extra large salon windows, some of the largest in their class, flood the salon with natural light. However, privacy is easily found by lowering the Roman Shades found at every window, and sliding the salon door curtain shut. The white ash cabinetry contrasts the dark wood floor throughout the salon, dinette, galley, and helm deck.

The galley sits to port of the upper salon, opposite the dinette and helm. Featuring all the amenities of home, it boasts a Miele cooktop, Miele convection oven, full size refrigerator and freezer, and double wide sink with glass backsplash. Increased galley storage is forward of the backsplash, a feature only found on later models. An extractor fan keeps the galley free of odors and smoke from the cooktop, and when needed, a semi-circle electric window opens to air out the galley even more.

The dinette sits to starboard with a C-shaped sofa and white ash, full-size dining table. A removeable middle leaf makes getting in and out of the sofa particularly easy, without having others get up. With the push of a button, the forward section of the dinette rises to become the lower helm seat, a clever space saving technique. The captain has a full complement of navigation equipment including a DC distribution panel and systems monitor well placed and within reach.

Below deck houses the full-beam aft master stateroom. In another clever space-saving technique by Azimut, the bed is offset in the aft, starboard corner. Still in an island fashion, the bed is not only easy to make, but it also gives plenty of walking space on the port side of the stateroom and nightstands for each side. The entire base of the bed rises on gas-assisted struts to reveal plenty of storage for bulky items. Large hullside windows allow plenty of natural light into the stateroom. Opening portholes give the option for cross ventilation and the ability to enjoy the fresh air when temperatures allow. A TV with soundbar sits on the forward bulkhead, which can be viewed from the port side settee thanks to a swivel mount. The settee has a hidden vanity and serves as an excellent desk, perfect for today’s focus of working remote. A hidden emergency escape through the ceiling gives added security and a washer/dryer combo is easily accessible in the master corridor, without leaving the confines of the stateroom. A well-lit, ensuite master head has a basin style sink, sliding medicine cabinet storage, and wide standup shower.

The beauty of the trapezoid-shaped bow can easily be felt in the VIP stateroom. Unlike most VIP berths that feel shoved up against the anchor locker, this VIP berth has night stands on either side and is close to a complete island style bed. Long hullside windows allow for plenty of light, and like the master, opening portholes allow for fresh air when desired. Guests enjoying the VIP have an emergency escape through the overhead deck hatch. Dual hanging lockers flank either side of the aft section of the stateroom, while a TV sits on the aft bulkhead. The ensuite VIP head has another excellent space saving design from Azimut, the shower doors slide out of the way to make the shower sole part of the head floor when not in use. When the shower is in use, three doors easily slide into place.

Unlike most boats this size, the guest stateroom is much more than just a storage room. Featuring an opening porthole, TV and extra-large hanging closet, guests will not feel like they are staying in a second-class stateroom. Like all staterooms, guests enjoy dimmable lights, a nightstand, and reading lights.

The Azimut 54 Fly is the best laid out boat in its class and this is the best example of the 54 Fly on the market today. It will not last as it has been meticulous gone through and prepped for sale. Don’t miss this opportunity, call before it is too late!

Hull Details

The structural design of the keel has been RINA approved. This implies a further guarantee of the structure’s quality; This is also guaranteed by the use of state-of-the-art techniques and the materials used. Construction materials and techniques have been the subject of research aimed at optimizing the balance between quality, weight and stiffness. Hull, deck, trays and structures are made of sandwich panel with PVC high performance core in order to achieve maximum rigidity and impact resistance. An infusion lamination system has been adopted for these parts, a technique that reduces weight while improving the control and quality of the construction. VINYLESTER RESIN is used for the lamination of the entire hull. This type of resin is extremely effective in preventing osmosis because of its chemical and mechanical properties. Therefore, Azimut is able to provide a 5-year warranty against osmosis. Isophthalic resin of recognized quality is used throughout the remainder of the lamination process. The structural bulkheads are made of sandwich with PVC core. The design concepts are at the cutting edge making the most of the performance offered by new materials and techniques: for example, transforming the interior flooring (trays) into a structural element, part of the traditional structure comprised of floor plates and longitudinal members has been eliminated, thereby among others increasing the volume available for the furniture, without sacrificing strength and rigidity and reducing weight. One of the key elements of this transformation was the use of next generation structural adhesives. The gluing technique and structural concepts that derived have been verified with a finished element analysis model. This calculation system, usually used in the aeronautical and automotive industries, simulates the behavior of the boat when it is subjected to the most severe conditions and verifies the structure in every detail. The uprights of the superstructure have been reinforced with carbon fiber to increase stiffness and reduce weight. The planning of the keel has a deadrise angle of 12° astern and 21° midships.
