The Marlow 70 Is considered by many to be the threshold of the Owner operated/Crewed yacht. A popular trend is a day captain that looks after the Yacht but is not onboard with the owners except when moving to a new location. The Marlow 70 has the beam and volume to carry larger V12 engines for those that want cruising speeds in excess of 25 knots but she performs very well with the fuel efficient 6 cylinder C-18’s; cruising at 20-23 knots with a top speed of 26 knots. This Yacht gives you the volume of “Trawler” with the speed of an Italian sport boat that has half the interior volume. The Marlow 70 is truly the best of both worlds.

We also are finding our fair share of customers that had vessels in the 100’ range that miss boating.  Many owners work their way up to larger and larger vessels and find themselves on a chunky, slow, unstable, fiberglass condo, surrounded by strangers and wish they could just go out on a boat again.  Husband and Wife and possibly a deck hand can have the Marlow 70 away from the dock as fast as the fifty-footer you had decades ago.

With 4,000 gallons of fuel she will take you anywhere you want to go. She can run from Florida to the Bahamas at 20 knots, cruise the islands for a month and run home at 20 knots on a single tank. She can be built as a 3 or 4 stateroom yacht and has lots of room for a nice crew cabin aft of the engine room. The Command Bridge model is often being built with a captain’s quarters or office up top.  She can also be configured with an open bridge and a lower helm like many of the previous generation 70E Marlow Explorers.

A galley forward feels very spacious and an on-deck master is an option. A Marlow Built to order provides a flexibility not usually found below 150’ and does not require the long lead time of a one-off custom yacht. She features a beautiful stand up engine room and carries enough water and storage for extended cruises. She is a great home to let you winter in Florida and Summer in Maine. You can reach the BVI from Florida without stopping for fuel. Her fully protected propellers and draft under 5’ will take you places in the Bahamas other yachts this size dares not go.
